[Discussion] What is the best way for you to learn (any) language?
ngoại ngữ
I’m still in process of learning English which is not my mother tongue so I cannot tell you what the best way to learn a foreign language is. But I’m happy to share with you what I’ve learned from my experience ^^
- Try to think in English more often, stop translating everything from your mother tongue to English in your head. You might not need good grammar or vocab right now, but you should train your mind to think in English more often. I believe it’s a key to fluency. :D Trust me, you do not want to have a stutter when you’re speaking English, do you? :D
- Practice more! Never be afraid of making pronunciation or grammar mistakes when you’re speaking English, you need someone to point them out for you and help you improve. Don’t worry, humans make mistakes all the time. Hiding your weakness doesn’t make perfect, practice does :D
- Watching or listening to what you like in English: I’m a huge fan of US tv shows, I’ve watched thousands of them like Friends, Young and Hungry, The good doctor, American Horror Story, Charmed or The walking dead (you should try watching them too ^^). By doing that, I can gradually get accustomed to American accent. When your ears are used to American accent (or British accent or whatever you like), it’ll be so much easier for you to try to copy the way those tv shows’ characters talk.
In the end of the day, learning a new language is a long journey, it does take a lot of practice and patience. G'luck to all of us! ^^

As long as you enjoy the process, you'll be successful.
Benny Lewis and Steve Kaufmann, for example, are two successful polyglots who have two completely different approaches to language learning. None of them is wrong, their common denominator is pure passion.

At beginner level: find a handsome or beautiful teacher, depending on your gender, and then you will definitely have the motivation to learn
At the intermediate level: find a girlfriend/ boyfriend who speaks that language. Trust me, your language proficiency will improve in a way you cannot imagine
